The Mississippi Bar
The Mississippi Bar serves the public good by promoting excellence in the profession and in our system of justice. As the first state bar association in the United States, the Bar strives t promote excellence in our system of justice, ensure the highest standards of professional competence and ethical conduct of the membership, increase the public's understanding and appreciation of our system of justice and the role of the legal profession, promote the availability and delivery of legal services, and provide programs and services to assist members in providing high quality legal services in a professional and cost effective manner.

MS Legal Services

  • North MS Rural Legal Services
    North MS Rural Legal Services, through constant training, self analysis and community involvement, provide to poor people, the highest quality of legal and technical assistance, which improves the daily quality of life, while contributing to the attainment of social, economic, and political equality. NMRLS addresses the needs of Mississippians in the Northern counties of the state as listed here.
  • Mississippi Center for Legal Services
    The Mississippi Center for Legal Services is a nonprofit corporation organized to provide high quality legal services to low income persons in the Southern counties of Mississippi. It is the result of the merger between Central Southwest MS Legal Services and Southeast MS Legal Services and includes the Gulf coast area formerly served by South MS Legal Services. MCLS aspire to provide hope and encouragement for the economically disadvantaged by ensuring that the legal system operates impartially without regard to station in life.

Mississippi Center for Justice
The Mississippi Center for Justice (MCJ) is a nonprofit, public interest law firm committed to advancing racial and economic justice. Its founding responded to an urgent need to re-establish in-state advocacy on behalf of low-income people and communities of color. Supported and staffed by civil rights advocates, attorneys, social service advocates and others, MCJ is committed to developing and pursuing strategies that combat discrimination and poverty in Mississippi.
