MARGARET ENFINGER, ESQ.
THE INSPIRATION
I hope to help change people's lives for the better by providing access to information and the courts.

THE INSPIRATION
I really didn't know what I wanted to do when I entered law school. I tried to get a variety of experiences. I realized I really need the satisfaction that I feel when working for the disadvantaged, particularly those in poverty. That work was the most motivating and the most rewarding.

THE INSPIRATION
Even though a 2005 survey indicated that Mississippi is the most impoverished state in the nation, funding for legal services is low in comparison with most other states. In addition to the general need for legal assistance, an increased need for legal services exists because of the massive destructive caused by Hurricane Katrina. As a native Mississippian, I am committed to assisting with recovery efforts.

SHALANDA HUDSON, ESQ.
THE INSPIRATION
I have always been interested in public interest and pro bono areas of the law. During my third year of law school, I interned at North Mississippi Legal Services and worked with Gary Rowland, who was the AmeriCorps Fellow there at the time. The work I did at North Mississippi Legal Services solidified my desire to work in the public law sector after graduation.
THE INSPIRATION
Because I understand that extreme injustice can result from the inability to access the justice system, I aspire to lessen the justice gap by providing legal representation and recruiting law students and attorneys to volunteer. In light of the poverty level and the devastating impact of Hurricane Katrina, the need for legal services in Mississippi is constantly increasing. Therefore, I feel compelled to serve the legal needs of this segment of the population.
